GST Liquors opens for business

Dolores store promises top selection, service
Linda Johnson is the manager of the GST Liquors, at 11th and Railroad avenues in Dolores.

Housed in a new building and home to one of the finest selections of alcoholic beverages in the area, Dolores' newest liquor store, GST Liquors, is sure to be a hit.

Located at the intersection of 11th and Railroad avenues, the recently opened store will offer wine, tequila, vodka, gin, whiskey and a variety of other beverages.

In addition to GST's beverage selection, the business houses a humidor and will offer cigars and other tobacco products. The store will also offer wine charms, gift bags, wine holders and liquor racks.

"We have a very large selection," store manager Linda Johnson said. "We have everything from high-end wine to box wine. We've also got some high-end whiskeys, high-end bourbons and high-end tequilas."

Owned by local resident Grant Smith, GST Liquors will also offer a full service drive through window, which will be the first of its kind in Dolores.

So far, the store employs five residents and in time, the store could offer even more jobs.

"We're going to have the friendliest staff around," Johnson said. "Customer service is going to be our goal."

Hoping to provide more than just a positive in-store experience however, GST Liquors intends to give back to the local community as a way of showing thanks.

"I'm planning on joining the Chamber of Commerce, and I want to be a booster club supporter for the schools," said Johnson. "We want to give back to the community.

Currently open from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. on weekends, GST Liquors hopes, above all, to be home to positive vibes.

"On our first night, we had people in here, and they stayed and visited for a while," said Smith. "That's the feeling that I want."
