School News: Springtime rush is on at schools as summer nears

Things are heating up at the Dolores schools as the end of the year gets in sight and the calendar fills up with events. Tuesday night, sixth-graders donned costumes, hats and much more as they presented the Night of the Notables. Characters in history came to life as students dressed as them and talked about them.

Opening night is Friday for 'Who's Crazy Now?'

Don't forget, this Friday is the opening night for "Who's Crazy Now?"

It's lot of hard work to put on a play, but even harder when the drama department is newly formed. The Dolores Middle School/High School drama department has put in many hours to bring us the highly entertaining play, which is set in a mental institution and follows teachers who have lost their balance trying to educate their students. Hmm?

The first showing of the play will be April 25 at 7 p.m. and the other showings are April 26 at 2 and 7 p.m. And if you are busy this weekend, don't worry. The show takes a break over next weekend, to allow for prom, and then starts again May 9 with a 7 p.m. showing and May 10 with a 2 and 7 p.m. showing.

Bingo benefits students

Play bingo Tuesday, April 29 at the Dolores Community Center to benefit Dolores students going on the Washington, D.C., trip this summer.

Soup is served at 6:30 for $5 and Bingo starts at 7. The game is fun for all ages and it costs $10 for 10 games.
